Re: 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 4x4 Project
Looked like a pretty clean truck to start with! I will be watching your build. Can't wait to see what it looks like when you get done. What color are you going to paint the body? ...Joe

Re: 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 4x4 Project
Let me start with saying the body work SUCKS!!!! I am so tired. Things have slowed down over these last few weeks. I have finished stripping the old cab of all the things I needed and took it and the bed down to Early Classics for store credit. They have been a great help.
So here is what we have been able to get accomplished... I have cleaned and sprayed the frame with a protective coating by 3M. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA050187.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA050188.jpg I started spraying primer on the cab, and doors. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA140194.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA140195.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA140196.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA140209.jpg We have also installed the 337ci Small Block Chevy Engine, new Turbo 350 Transmission, NP205 Transfer Case, and 40 series Flowmaster exhaust system. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA130184.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA130188.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/PA130187.jpg I already have another update coming as soon as I get the pictures on my computer. Heres a teaser for you ...Lets just say that I'l be driving the truck next weekend. |
Re: 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 4x4 Project

Oh and by the way the engine sounds awesome!!!! I finished primering the bed on saturday along with installing the new glovebox. Today I ordered my new wheels, tires and shocks. Re: 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 4x4 Project
Cool project. What will you do to address the steering with 12" of lift? Who is making your springs? What gear ratio will you be using in the axles? What tire size did you finally decide on? Man, I sure have alot of questions!

So after drive my baby for its first weekend out, I blew my head gaskets. Not my fault!! Its my dads fault for not realizing that the engine needed all new gaskets.
