Looked at a 72 k10 suburban today

Hey guys, any idea of the value of a 72 k10 burb? 4 speed, has front buckets and 2nd row and 3rd row seats, factory tach. Has trim around bottom of windows and all pieces are there. Needs new quarter panels, and patch panel above windshield inside.. has not run in 25 years. Also has heater in rear. Non A/C ...Truck is rough but all there from what I can tell. Owner has paperwork...

I wouldn’t think it would be worth more than scrap value especially with roof rot which, to me, is the kiss of death.

If it still has all the options you mentioned it is worth way more than scrap in parts and that is how I would look at it value wise. With the roof rot it may be worth more as a parts truck vs repair, all depends on your skill set. It also depends on condition of said parts which is hard to evaluate without seeing them.

Do not turn this into a WTB or FS thread ...

From what you’ve mentioned, I see close to $4k in interior parts alone.

I assumed that you wanted the truck as a project. If you want it to dismantle and part out, then it does have some value - if you live where you can part it out without running into problems with your town/neighbors/ etc.

FWIW, I am looking for another project. Suburbans of that era are relatively rare up here, especially 4x4's, but I think he's emotionally attached to it as it's worth about $1500 to me.
