1967 chevrolet c20 dually stake rack.

I just got a 1967 Chevy c20 stake rack truck today. But on the fender right below the drivers side windshield corner it says "by Ames" and it looks to be in the same lettering and material as the chevrolet and c20 symbols. Does anybody know what that is or means? I can get a better up close picture if that will help.

Welcome aboard first off, the emblem on your cowl is more than likely a dealer emblem. Research your area, or where you got the truck from on local dealerships

Thank you for the info! I'll add some more pictures when I get home today, I'm doing a brake job on a Saab today lol

And Firedemon yes! I got it from the stittville/Marcy area. That's funny that you know the truck, small world huh?

Pretty sure Ames was a truck bed supplier back in the day ,I remember reading the mud flaps on the thruway :chevy:

Nice truck I could use that everyday here on the farm .

Welcome from Maryland! That's a rare option, dual rear wheel on a C/20. Is it coil suspension or leaf? Eh, has anybody asked what's under the hood?

Re: 1967 chevrolet c20 dually stake rack.

It is a great truck, I love it. It is 50 years old from new York so it has some rust and needs some work. But drives and runs great just like it is.

And yea I've heard the c20 with the dually and stake rack is pretty rare, I got the truck for s steal. And couldn't be happier, and the motor is a 1968 307, don't know alot about the motor but I know it has Hooker competition headers and I believe it may have a mild cam.

I would add more pictures of it that I took today but I don't know how to add more, I'm new to this site lol

And it has the coil spring suspension on the rear axle. With an AMES stake rack wood flat bed on it

Are you sure the truck is a 67? Not a 68? Engine may be original.
Nice looking truck.

Re: 1967 chevrolet c20 dually stake rack.

The vin says it's a 67, but like I said. I don't know the history of the truck, I got it from a guy who also didn't know anything about it, and didn't know much about trucks at all. Or any vehicles either, I asked him if it was a dually after seeing a bad pictures and he didn't even know what a dually meant lol. All I know about it is what I can see myself. Thats sad because I would love to know the history of the truck. It has an AMES bed on it and I believe AMES was out of Iowa from my research so I don't even know if it is a true ny truck. I would love to learn it's full history
