Cool Blue H4064 (is that right?)

I don't know about you, but I was tired of my old crappy candle-in-a-box sealed beam. I want to eventually do a conversion to HID, but that is way down the road... anyways - so I went to Kragens and got Sylvania's Cool Blue headlights. The box is a bit cheezy. The lights ARE NOT actually blue. the bulb inside has a blue coating, but the light is not. The light ends up looking whiter - crisper - kinda like HID but not. I don't know how long they last - they are only months old. I heard the ones with those coatings don't last as long though so keep an eye out. Bottom line: they put out more light. There is probably a cheaper solution.

Pros:
see better!
Cool looking

Cons:
expensive (over twice as much as regular lights)
questionable life????

I give them a 3 out of 5

Those are some really good lights. The only thing I dont like about them is they did not bump up the wattage. Toucan Industries has an H4HXC that is rated at 100/80 watts. They produce the same white light and really do look like the HID since they have a higher wattage. They are 19.95 for the pair.

I "think" (don't quote me on it) that bumping up the wattage is illegal. (just in California???) The same company just came out with their "like HID" lights for sealed beams. They are called Silver Star. I was thinking about getting them, but they are $25 a piece!!! (In store they do have a $10 mail-in-rebate for them if you buy a pair) Personally, that is a bit much for headlights. I'll stick with my Cool blue.

i'm using cool blue's in my 150. i like them a lot. it seems they throw more light, but that could just be me. i give em 2 thumbs up.

I converted my sealed beams over the H4 replaceable style with a kit I bought at this import sport type place..... I know I know. But man, what a difference. I bought some of the illegal 100/90 watt plasma bulbs and whamo..... wayyyyyyy more light out front. I cut a deal with the guy and got everything for a little under a hundred bucks. The light bulbs alone sold for 50 or 60, so yeah it was kinda pricey, but well worth the $$$$ The Sylvania stuff is just crap, not worth the extra money.

Sylvania's stuff is good quality stuff - what are you refering to? Their conversion kit or their HID kit?

I like the Diamond conversion kit from APC (yeah another Ricer company, but they DO make stuff for our trucks) Be careful when dealing with APC, they're a funny company. They do very strange things with their products > like modifying them each month, make it for a month & drop it start making it for another month, etc.

The HID kits are mucho $$$$, I've seen em for around $600. People buy the Sylvania lights and expect HID light..... aint gonna happen.

The Sylvania Silver Stars come very close to HID's. They give off 6000 K of light.

My right light has condensation in it meaning the seal is busted on it. I don't think I have my reciept or I would go get a replacement! GRRR.....
