Pro-touring pickup

So I thought maybe starting a build thread would keep me motivated on the long road ahead of me.

My criteria for my next hot rod was I want something that I can drive… a lot. It has to have all of the modern conveniences, be reliable, handle and ride well, and look cool. I guess this is probably closest to the pro-touring style of build.

If I see one more pro-touring Camaro I may puke so I am starting with an really clean 1960 C20 long step straight from the Nevada/southern California border.

Build plans
 LS based engine with a 4L65 or 4L70 trans
 Custom or late model chassis
 Lots of body mods-Everything is getting shaved
 It will be a short step truck
 Custom interior maybe late model dash?
 It will have the 62-66 hood

I have some other ideas that I will share as we go along. I think this build is going to take about 4 years I have a 50-60 hour a week job and 2 little kids so garage time is limited. Hopefully this thread isn't going on in 6 years...

Here is what I am starting with, the day the truck showed up was a happy day!

Well I think I have a plan, for the next year or two. I am going to get all the fab done on the cab, then doors, fenders, hood, bed... then get it blasted and do all the finish body work. So far I have taken care of the filler neck and the door jambs, moving on to the drip rail, hopefully have that knocked out in the next week or two.
