Re: Pro Performance: C1500 RCSB Build
Got a few loose ends finished up this weekend on the truck. Quickly installed the roll pan, and have yet to weld it in. Also have a set of sport mirrors to go on. The truck will eventually get painted, but have decided to handle all the suspension and drivetrain first. Was able to pick up a 5.3/4L60E combo, which should be going in the truck in the next few weeks. My plan is to see how cheap it can be done, and plan on using as much factory stuff off the engine as possible, and doing the harness myself. I will do a full write up and document as much as possible.

Re: Pro Performance: C1500 RCSB Build
Haven't worked much on it, since my schedule has been so busy. However, I am hoping to get some time in today and this weekend, and fire it up by Sunday.

Re: Pro Performance: C1500 RCSB Build
Some updated progress on the truck. Got the LS fired, and just about ready to go around the block for the first time. Made a quick bracket to adapt the pedal on the inside, mounted the TAC module and installed the Dakota Digital gauges. Man, these gauges are so much better than the original sweeper style. Just make the inside of the truck seems a lot more modern.

Re: Pro Performance: C1500 RCSB Build
Got the 94-98 filler panel mounted in there, and used some spacers to adapt it to the 88-93 core support. I used 3/4" spacers on the ones shown, and a 1/2" one for the center. The far ends ones didn't end up on a flat spot on the core support. For the time being, I didn't attach those, and all seems sturdy. If I end up needing them, I will make a small bracket to attach them. After the grille clips in, it is firm.
Also cleaned up and re-did some wiring on the front lights. Got them all working, and did new bulbs and housings. https://s26.postimg.org/lpllddg7d/IMG_2760.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/o87ae21xl/IMG_2763.jpg |
Re: Pro Performance: C1500 RCSB Build
How was the install on the gauges?
|
Re: Pro Performance: C1500 RCSB Build
Honestly, pretty easy since they are made for the truck. There is a plug for the original gauges at the back. You just splice into some of those wires for your blinker indicators, high beam, park brake light, etc. Can install in one-day, no problem.

Loving this build!!

Re: Pro Performance: C1500 RCSB Build
Ditto, following this build!
I take it there is no need to get the fillers for fenders from a 94+ to fit the 94+ center for the newer grille?I want to swap to the 94+ grille in my 90 w/t and taking notes on what all I need. Read I needed the 94+ center bumper brackets as well,on another site, for the swap.Take it that aint the case? |
