I wonder if he made that. It does not look like he is going to.

It's weird how that piece of plywood is in the roof in the second picture but not the first. I am glad he made it. I woulden't wave wanted either of those trucks to get hurt;)

I found it telling that the flyer had the statement "See the longest ramp to ramp jump attempted by any stuntman ALIVE today". Key word in the sentence is ALIVE, could have been replaced by INSANE ;)

Crazy long jump at the time. I'm pretty sure I saw a guy in a wheelchair do a jump about ten times that a few years back. It's all about what we THINK is possible. So funny, we people.

That's back while he was still riding a Norton, before he switched to HD. I have an ironhead sporty in my shop right now, I couldn't imagine jumping a curb let alone the things he jumped with it.

Guy on Facebook posted this one stating that his wife is in the brown sweater. He had posted the original invoice showing the truck is a '66, & the picture was taken in 1967.

Guy named Ben posted this picture on Facebook stating it's his father, Henry Hammonds, with his truck & dog. Pic was taken in 1964. According to the comments on the post, his dad had just traded a '55 Mercury for the pickup not long before this pic was taken. He bought it in Garden City, Kansas.

This one is from Facebook & was described as being taken in Eureka, CA in 1974. It stated the picture was taken by American photographer Stephen Shore, who took a lot of pictures in the 70's with automobiles in the background.

About 1985. This is the '66 K10 show truck my father built, photographed in the hay medow next to my grandparents old house. I have vivid memories riding shotgun in this truck while he rowed through the gears and bouncing on the brown bench seat. He sold it around 1990 because he got tired off flattening the tires to get it in a garage. I'd love to know what happened to that truck.

You are welcome!

I did dig up another picture of the same truck posted above. This one is taken a little earlier in time as it is pictured in the paint shops parking lot. My father is peering into the engine bay.

Just the Tailend of one......

In 1968, Harahan was the scene of a colorful display of patriotism called Loyalty Day. It included a parade, complete with floats, bands, servicemen, Scouts, and even a likeness of Uncle Sam. The parade, sponsored by the Harahan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3267, was the result of a gubernatorial proclamation designating May 3 Loyalty Day in Harahan.
