15x12 & 325/50/15 MT's

Is anyone running that wheel and tire combo? If so, I'd like to see pics because I'm thinking really hard about running them next year when I swap out rears.

Re: 15x12 & 325/50/15 MT's

That might be an in between size from what most are running. I run a 16x12 wheel and Hoosier Pro Street radials on the street, which ends up being a similar size to the MTs you're asking about. I run a 15x10 wheel with a set of 315/60 - 15 MT drag radials at the track. Here's a photo of my 16x12s with the Hoosiers...

I am running a 15x12 with a 315/60/15 MT DR. essentially the same tire just a 30" tire vs a 28" tire. When I get home on tue I will try to get some pics for you.

Willie,

Doed MT call the sportsman a drag radial? I ask as I 5hink the compounds are different. In other words, I think the dr is actually softer.

Re: 15x12 & 325/50/15 MT's

Well mine are the 315/60-15 MT ET Street d/r's...mounted on a 15x10 rally wheel with 4.5" b.s. The 1st pick shows 15x8 rallys (4" bs?) with 275/60-15 BFG's.

I need to get some different wheels with a 5.5" to 6" b.s....or even more if they're over 10" wide.

68GMC, That's pretty bad a$$ looking. I've been looking at tires the last several days and, I might just go with a 15x10 and the 325/50 because, I like some sidewall bulge and I don't think I'll have it with the 15x12's. But still a 15x5 w/ a 205/75/15 and a 15x10 w/ a 325/50 will still look good and I should have to mini tub it.

7 1/2 bs......and yes its home made

Re: 15x12 & 325/50/15 MT's

I like the cover, looks clean. I need to get everything tucked up under too...as you have there. These wheels only come in 4.5" or 5" bs....so I may have them modified or just replace the whole set with something else, but I still want my track tires on a separate set of rear wheels that match the main set.

What brand and style wheel are you running? I originally wanted Weld Rodlites but, now I'm thinking about Centerline Convo Pro's instead.

djracer, where did you find blem M/T's and how much cheaper were they? What is the backspacing on the wheels?

Re: 15x12 & 325/50/15 MT's

Dang Kevin I like the wheels you and JR picked out.
Correct me if I'm wrong. One of the great benifits to a 12" wide wheel is to help square up the tire for a better better contact patch.

You are correct. My truck should have had wider wheels when it was together
last time. I had a 33 10.5 w tire on a 10 inch wheel before but now I will have them on a 14 inch wheel.

Thanks for the props on the wheels. I hope to get back on his truck real soon.

I bought those tires used at a big drag radial event for less than 100 for the pair. I don't remember exactly.
I don't remember the exact back spacing but its not much. We are building a narrowed 9 inch for the truck.
