New Member Checking In
Hello from a new member. Been reading on this site for over a month and just got all signed up so I thought I would say hello.
My handle tells a bit of my story but not near all. I'll give the short version. I've had a line on the truck for almost two years but would not pull the trigger on purchasing it. One kid in college and another headed that way, you know - life. Well, this past May was my 25th wedding anniversary and my wife made a deal on the truck and had it delivered to the house! At some point soon I will post up some photos and give a description and what I have done thus far. I'll try to find an old photo of the 1970 stepside I had as a teenager that got me hooked on these trucks as well. Anyway, hello and glad to be on board! |

Here is the photo I posted up in the general 67-72 part of the board. This was delivery day and the bed was full of "extra" stuff. Unfortunately, the rally wheels on the front belonged to the PO and he wanted them back as they came off his 68.
Wife is in on the project as much as she will come out and look at what I am doing occasionally and lend me a hand as well. I know I have at least one photo of my 1970 truck somewhere. I gotta find it and scan it to post up. It was a CST and that one you wish you had not let get away. Sold to buy a 1979 CJ7 that I wish I had back now as well. :waah: I always liked the hood/grill a bit better on the 67 and 68's so this was right up my ally. I'd like to have had a truck in better condition but these days those come at a premium price. |

Cool, hope your cab isn't too far gone. I have a couple 67's stashed away for future projects, unique one year only design (small window, no side markers, etc).

Re: New Member Checking In
I have some concerns on the cab. One cab corner and the inner rockers are toast. A few spots in the floor as well but nothing that is not usual. My concerns are the rot I have found that goes all the way up and into the interior vents. I'm concerned the cowl/firewall will have considerable issues when I tear it down that far.
Front fenders appear good but the all too common core support and driver's side inner fender were ruined by the battery. On a good note, the frame appears to be in very good condition and should clean up well unless I find something that is hiding. Which isn't out of the question. |
