Whats the differance

2 Attachment(s)
I have 2 trucks, one is a 1969 C-20 w/rear coil springs, the other is a 1970 or 71 C-20 w/rear leafs. I believe that the 69 has 4:11 posi. in it, but I have no clue what the other one could be. Any clues?

Re: Whats the differance

The round cover is a Chevrolet 5200 (HO52). I stand corrected the other appears to be a later GM 14 bolt that was offered in couple of different versions.

If you have a SPID you can cross check that to the link in my signature for HO52 ratios and original axle installations.
Plus an axle code stamped into the tube can tell you original ratio and if a posi of some sort.

On the 14 bolt you are on your own. Sorry I don't have much later data.

Isn't the bottom photo a Corporate 14 bolt?

Yes, that bottom one is a corporate 14.

To check the ratio (which I bet is 4.10) use this procedure:
