Saving the 63' from the grave

Couldn't pass up the price and didn't want to see it get scrapped. working on getting more pics up now and i'll try to keep updating the page. good to be on here with you guys

Re: Saving the 63' from the grave
Keep plugging away a little at a time and don't be afraid to walk away if you get frustrated. It saved me a few times.
Good luck |

Re: Saving the 63' from the grave
the truck will be layed out on air. I went straight to Azproformance for the Choppin' Block front kit. everything bolted on,lined up, and looks great. for the rear i wanted everything layed out in certain spots so I am building the rear setup.
here's a couple shots of the front getting everything mocked up and when i had the cab on the lift still finishing the firewall and undercab welding https://image.ibb.co/kkQ9kR/21314405...23373764_n.jpg https://image.ibb.co/coZ25R/21230919...66356278_n.jpg |
Re: Saving the 63' from the grave

Re: Saving the 63' from the grave
couple more pics while i'm checking emails. once all the structure was welded back in the truck we got all the exterior panels that were to be replaced off and ready for blasting. once blasted i prepped, cleaned up, and put under a couple coats of primer to seal it up from flash rust

Re: Saving the 63' from the grave
bodywork getting underway. most the work was just around the panel replacements. rest of the cab was in fairly decent shape just some skim coats on most places. these doors are on for rocker fitment. I have new skins that will go on these shells since they don't make a whole door for a 63'

Re: Saving the 63' from the grave

just take your time man and you will be fine. I notice when I try to get things done by a certain time. I skip a few things I wish I would've done so I try not to do that anymore.

Re: Saving the 63' from the grave
when you install the door skin is it spot welded on? Nice job on the doors insides!
|
Re: Saving the 63' from the grave
yes, the doors are spot welded on from the factory inside lip and a few at the bottom that attatches to an inside brace. I put all spot welds back in the same spots when I install new ones.
