thanks JohnC my plans for the truck are to restore it with a little custom things here and there not to much though. Im still in the beggining stages of the truck but im serious about doing it right I ran the vin and found that it was originally a 454 the guy I got it from was a put gas in it and go type of person when i bought it it had no fluids what so ever im suprised the inline 6 is still kickin. the only issue I really have with the truck besides the inline is the radiator support and right side inner fender everything else is actually decent.

That's really weird that it used to have a 454 in it, and they changed it to a 6cyl. Usually it's done in reverse.

my old 75 gmc was that way. It was a short step orderd with a 454 and 3.40 gears. I got it with a 6 cyl from a 69 nova and I put a 350 in it.

Time isn't always a bad thing. I've seen a lot of people as soon as they paint a truck, or do something major wish they had done something else. If you have more time, and have to wait for funds, like I do, you can sometimes have a more concrete plan of action. My uncle just bought a truck that has the copper color on top, and black on the bottom. It looks awesome.

Not the best pic, but all I have for now.

Thanks ...that looks pretty cool on his :metal:. I had thought of doing mine that way kinda...with black on bottom and like a Harley orange on top, but decided on the one color ( copperhead )

Just bought this one 2 weeks ago. 87 SWB 350FI 700R4 A/C. 15x10 w/ 295/50's. 91 Burb clip w/ billet grilles.
3" steel cowl hood. 5.3L 4L60E swap in mind. Found a wrecked 01 tahoe for $1000. I'll try to add some better pics later just took these as soon as I got her home.

^^^ I really like the truck, just not the wheels. I think 1000 for a wrecked tahoe is an awesome deal. You could part out the interior and get that much back. I've been getting a price of 1000 for just an engine w/accessories and harness from a salvage yard, so if you get the chance take it. A 5.3 and 4L60e would be perfect in that truck.

Sharp ...if mine looked that good already, I'd be in good shape.

Thanks Guys (ps. if it seems girly it's cuz it is a girls truck):truck:

The seats are a 40/20/40 split bench with a fold down center and were re-finnished and covered to match the truck. I don't care for the fold down center as it has no storage and shallow cup holders, so I put an old refurbished steel horse center counsole painted black sitting on the center seat.

karl...nice truck...glad I joined this board, it's full of nice square bodies and great people to get ideas from for my old fixer upper....Hey....((( liv2ryde )))....You said that your seats were re covered, do you know what kind of vehicle they were in originally? I would like some sportier looking seats for my 82, but need to keep the seating room I have now with my bench. One like that would be perfect.

How far have you ever towed with the C10, and any problems?

Thanks, Slim

No problems. Probably the farthest I ever pulled was when I moved from Detroit to Phoenix; pulled the Chevelle on the open trailer (as you see in the pic) with no issues.

I should mention the truck is a V6 with the 4 speed manual overdrive trans - probably not the best set up for trailering but if you are not going far or not pulling often it is fine.
