Can you identify there light inserts?!

1 Attachment(s)
Hi:
I picked up these fenders for $25 each since mine where totally damaged. The seller didn't know what kind of light insert these are since they were rivet in a piece of sheet metal! I like to know what lights may go in there just in case I like them and I want to keep them this way rather than patch them.
Thanks and happy new year.

On a visual search alot of ford stuff was showing up.
I am going to resize and then check it again.
It would not let me do it in my photo gallery.

a little more info, like dimensions, may help. have you looked at the possibility that it may simply be a 6" oval stop turn tail light from a grote industries? the ones that mount into a rubber grommet and have a plug in pigtail, they are a sealed unit. then possibly the other holes were used to mount a stainless sheet metal trim part to dress up the area a bit. there are solid backed rubber grommets that would seal out the stuff that flys off the back wheel. anyway, maybe google the product for a quick dimension check of the hole size you have. lots of this style of light were/are being used on home built vehicles and trailers, there are stainless or chrome dress up parts for them as well.

I'm thinking that that is a light off a later model truck. Could be car but I bet truck

Re: Can you identify there light inserts?!

They may have mounted a light upside down.

Flipped to see what it looks like. I'd try a 73/80 something Chevy fleetside taillight just to see if it fit.

Re: Can you identify there light inserts?!

the first light I thought of was the 70's chevy truck fleetside box tail light

70s fleetside might be it. Maybe just the lens over top of the oval light like mr48chev suggested.

It sort of fits, allowing for paralax of original image

Re: Can you identify there light inserts?!

I did not check dimensions, just scaled an image of the lens to same size as opening

Re: Can you identify there light inserts?!

I'd say you can scratch that one off the list.

just a thought but with that curve, what about van taillights?

I'll see if I can hit the local junkyards to see what might be available. Thanks for the info.

Re: Can you identify there light inserts?!

You might want to wrap a sheet of card stock aka old file folder around the light opening and trace it out and trim it so you have a pattern you can lay over potential lights. I'd be looking at mid 70's to around 90 as that kind of thing was a hot lick in the 70's, 80's and early 90's.

Okay, it is not 80-90s taillight. The curvature does not look the same. 1980s taillight has equal curve or angle on either sides.

Maybe contact this guy and he can identify the opening and what would fit: https://www.taillightking.com/index.htm
