Re: '68 C30 Cummins swap

Thanks guys!

I was able to get the slave rod finished, I used 3/8" allthread connectors that I opened up one end 1/2" deep so the slave rods could slip in and weld. Small piece of allthread and two jamb nuts and good to go. Reinstalled the cluster and filled the radiator hoping to fire up but can't find a non AC belt till Monday.

Re: '68 C30 Cummins swap

I did something similar the first time around but after heating up that garbage material when welding it gets really soft and it ended up getting tweaked when pushing on it with my foot.

I ended machining a rod for it and removing the factory rod from the master.

The rod can rest in there, it doesn't need to be clipped in like how it comes.

Your end links and all thread looks beefier so it might be ok.

Just looked at your build thread and it seems that you cut the rod on the thinner area where the switch was?

Couldn't live with how I mounted the narrowed radiator so I removed the core support and will relocate the factory lower mounts.

Was finally able to fire it up a couple weeks ago! What's a good video hosting site so I can add the vid here?
