Headlights - Picked up new relay, what lights would you use?
This relay upgrade has been on my list for a while. I like doing business with forum members.
Now that the relay is on it's way, what options are available for headlight upgrades? This is going on my '72 (see sig). I've been reading through some of the forum posts to get ideas. If you've done a headlight upgrade, with a relay kit, let me know lights/bulbs? you used and would you do it differently today? What can I learn from your experience...good or bad? Looking for quick and easy "plug and play" headlight upgrade, something reliable for long term and something that will give me more visibility at night...when I make those 2am What-a-burger runs. I seem to be attracted to misery (must be my cologne!), so not looking for anything complicated. It's too dog gone hot right now anyway, to be doing time consuming upgrades. |

Two options I would concider...
Hella replacements http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=136 or Jeep JK http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=447572 But if monet was no object you could do two LED options... http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US OR http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=525871 |

Plug that nice harness into what you got.
Go to What-a-burger tonight and test it out. I'm guessing you'll be happy with your current headlights and better voltage to them. If not I'd go with Halogen sealed beam headlights. If you aren't looking for anything complicated like you stated, sealed beams are the way to go. If one fails, you're a trip to Wal*Mart or ANY parts store away from a replacement. If you go with aftermarket, fly-by-night something or anothers, you may be stuck in the future. |

I have the relay upgrade, along with Sylvania Silverstar headlights. Couldn't be happier.

Just did this upgrade:

Re: Headlights - Picked up new relay, what lights would you use?
I got mine at coollights.com
they take a standard h4 bulb that ANY parts store will carry.. mine are plastic back with glass lens. with halo and a detail light.. at 69 bucks it's about what two good sealbeams would be.. that news flash parts stores are not carry'n many of anymore.. h4 come in 55w and 85w like above I'd try just the relay first you might be happy as a clam and as the lights burn out get the halogen ones.. I did the mopar relay mod.. the relays and bracket was 5 bucks.. |

I threw two of THESE on my GMC and wired them in with a relay to the high beam circuit. 4 lights was great, but with those little driving lights it will turn the night to day.
