Re: My 42 Project

Time fly's by and other projects get in the way, and now its time to fix some problems. The carb 1404 keeps draining so I thought. I pulled the top of the carb off and sure enough the carb was almost empty. Did some research and found out that fuel in California evaporates and boils at 180 degrees. Since this engine runs about 195 to 200 means it was boiling out after being turned off. I installed a insulator under the carb and that should take care of that. The next problem is, as I was reading that I might have too much pressure at the carb because of the after market fuel pump. So I put in a fuel regulator. I opened it all the way and it showed 2 lbs of pressure. Gezzz. So I am changing the fuel pump today and see what happens. I also have been working on the headliner. What a pain in the ass a two piece headliner is. Any tips let me know. Thanks

I got a few Purolator fuel pumps at a swap meet. The one I put in the truck supposedly checked at the factory only puts out 2 lbs. The next one puts out 6. Good enough for the Edelbrock carb. I am replacing the accelerator cable, it somehow broke the casing. Next project is the 700r4 wiring for the lockout

I sold this truck last year. I recently got a message from a guy who says he bought it from the guy I sold it to. It has really been fixed up a lot. It is in the Temecula/Murrieta area. Maybe I will get to see it again
