charcoal canister?

I'm sure this has been talked about before, but I was looking for fresh input.

I want this truck to pass a visual inspection, where the guys just look to make sure the '87 emission systems are in place. However, I also don't want the future complexity of failed purge and vent valves.

I'm teeing both tank vents together and running it to the canister mounted on the radiator support. What happens after that? Just run a vent tube from the canister to the air filter box? I doubt it would function correctly, but all I care about now is that it doesn't stink too bad(it won't be garaged, though) and will pass visual inspection.

Any other suggestions?
