man i should have bought the one a few years back.. was in decent shape, but i wasnt sure on the 3000.00 he wanted for it.. didnt know they even made them like this.. would be cool to have one to pull on a trailer behind my motor home, then i could have a base to operate from..

It's here. Glad you got the pic of the serial number plate Chuck, as I never got the 6/76 build date from Tom. That one also has the most intact silk screening on any plate I've seen yet, most have faded to nothing.

Matt - if you still want one, but just the shell, there's one in Catlettsburg, KY not so far from you where the owner asks that the buyer remove it so he can keep the Blazer. Otherwise, for the Yahoo forum Doug mentions, I keep an ongoing list of Chalets and GMC Jimmy Casa Grandes for sale around the country, PM me if you want the list. 20 of 'em in one form or another, still moderately inexpensive for the best ones and a $24,900 one other I 'rant' about in post #6 here.

Or Chinook Mobilodge Company? I don't know the company's history, if this was a merger, Mobilodge being the company and Chinook being the line, or always this name. But, could it be GM's request so these weren't associated with models named Chinook offered by other companies since they had their own marketing names? Toyota Chinooks were prominent at this time. Or, I have no idea?

It does, the Chinook logo color screenprinting has long faded off, leaving the cleaner metal area, and the word "Chinook" below it is crackling off. These were not high quality nameplates. As a graphic artist having access to aerospace-quality screenprinting, I hope to offer a service down the somewhat distant road of restoring the screenprinting on these plates. Most of these I've seen have no black left on 'em at all.
