Dying cat

1998 s10 zr2 4.3 4l60e 4x4, and my cat converter is dying, causing a missfire under load, and all that. know its the cat as it has the po420 (hahaha gm) code. anyway to fix this cheap?

Re: Dying cat

Does it have to pass emissions ? If so you will have to get another cat converter .

If no inspection I would cut that sucker off and put a piece of pipe in its place .

You will have to get your ECM flashed because the O2 after the cats will cause a Check Engine Light! I think

You can do what i did and put a fouler in front of your o2 sensor. Its what alot of dudes do when they eather gut or straight pipe their cat, but being a 98 ya might have to reflash it.
