Who makes a Fuel Injection tank for Blazers

I have searched but can't seem to find a tank I can put a Fuel Injection pump in for my 72 Blazer.

I am doing a 5.3 swap and I do not want to run a frame mounted pump.

If there is a way to adapt my stock tank I am open for that suggestion also.

I searched the TANKS web site but all they seem to have is for 73-91 Blazers!

Thanks guys!

Probably one of the coolest fuel injection parts made these days. Just put it in the engine bay and then you don't need to run wires and build new fuel lines for EFI.

Thanks but I have read many bad stories on the FiTech Forum about these units and they have been nothing but trouble. I think they are on version 2 or 3 so they may have some of the issues ironed out but I am looking for a Tank with a big enough hole to use the Blazer/Burb sending unit that has the pump built on it. You just have to change the pump to a 60 Psi unit and done. I got a tank from TANKS for a 67 Camaro project that was perfect but they done seem to make one for our Blazers. Thanks for the tip, just not what I am looking for.

My best recommendation to you would be to have a local fabrication shop just weld you up a tank then, they are dirt simple and can be built to any capacity you want. Nice thing about the Blazers is the tank is just a square in between the frame rails so a fab shop can whip one out quick because there's no complicated geometry.

Can even have them build it out of SS (although more expensive) and never have to worry about it again.

Speaking of "it's just a box", you might want to look into fuel cells. Universal ones come in "box" shape of all kinds of different dimensions. Would just need to make some brackets for it, costs is about the same as a fuel tank.

you'll have to do some fabrication...... but a 87-91 Blazer or Suburban EFI tank can be used for an in tank set-up...search the Blazer build section...there are a few threads on it...
the tank will be around $100 or so....

Yes Boyd Welding. Call AZ Pro Performance and tell them you want the Boyd Blazer Tank. It has the fill neck the right size and moved to make it easier to use the stock fill hose. I just got mine last week but haven’t had a chance to mount it yet. If you are a member of C10 Addiction on Facebook you get a discount.....

I also converted to a 5.3, but made my own tank. Converting an original tank is fairly straight forward if you have some fabricating capabilities. My best advice is to use as much OEM stuff as possible because it will be much easier getting parts later on if a problem should arise. I used a factory 2003 pump and assembly and have no regrets. In fact, I've used these assemblies on a few builds. They are cheap and are self contained including fuel sender, roll over valve and return line. Another bonus is that the assembly will adjust to different depth tanks so it's an easy install. While you're at it, cut an access hole in your floor so that you won't need to drop the tank for any future pump servicing. One last thing I would recommend is plastic (nylon) fuel lines front to back. Once you use these, you will never go back to the old steel lines.

How did you mount the new pump assembly in the old tank?

I’ll 2nd Boyd from AZ Performance. I have one sitting in my shop for my build. It’s a top notch tank and fits in the stock position. You can also have them move the filler neck if you don’t like the position. Mine is behind the mount to the rear of the truck. Just need to snake a hose to it. I think it was about 4-500 with shipping if I remember right.

I didn't. I mentioned I built my own tank, but converting an old tank is the same process. I machined a ring and retainer then welded it to the new tank.

Goin through putting the 87-91 tank in mine right now. This is the best thread that I've found on it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=670191 More pics and fuel line AN fitting part numbers here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=663780&page=2 might be on page 2 or 3. With a 4.5" angle grinder and a drill you can do the swap. With the tank in this location the filler neck shouldn't need to be modified or turned, it'll be just in front of the second from the rear body mount.

Page 60 of the current LMC catalog looks like Holley has one that fits in the stock tank. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=60

Re: Who makes a Fuel Injection tank for Blazers

My Jimmy came from the previous owner with a nice new Poly replacement gas tank. I had a tall version of the areomotive phantom 340 fuel system laying around. I didn't need that much pump, so swapped it for a Walbro 255. It's been working for me nicely so far. I've had it down to 2-3 gallons in the tank, and no stumbles.

Not necessarily what I would have done from scratch, but I had the phantom setup on the shelf from another project..

What’s the problem with Fitech?

I did a Google search and all the threads are from 2016-17 so old

Anyone have recent experience with the newer command center pump?

Been considering for the 454 in my 70 2WD Blazer

Did I read correctly that the Boyds tanks have the correct/complete filler neck for the Blazer/Jimmy?

97 2 door Blazer fuel tank fits nicely in replacement of the stock tank. and you can drop in a fuel pump and sending unit.

Thank you, but I already ordered a Boyds from AZ Performance.

Ricks Tanks makes an adapter for the original tank to use a 2010 Camaro style pump but it's expensive and on B/O for about four months right now. Nice part but JEEZ!
