It's the universal Gen II Compac system and I just used the brackets that came with it and modified them for the rear mounts and made some adjustable mounts for the front. I'll try and get some better pics for you.....oh, and yeah, it's heat and a/c :)

That is awesome, I looked at their site after seeing yours but they lost me on the prices page. Too many words and number skrunched all together and I get confused. LOL
I like pictures and bottom lines.

So my question to you is did you get one of the full install kits, or are you going piece by piece and only buying what you need?

Thanks for the info and sorry if this seems academic, I am kinda a newb at this resto stuff.

Thanks guys :)

McMurphy, I'm just piecing it out because it's easier on my wallet and it keeps me from ending up with left-over pieces.....that, and my compressor location is going to require some longer hoses than the standard kit comes with. I bought part #68000-VUZ-A from Summit.....it was less than $500 :) I wouldn't think you would need a/c in North Pole, Alaska......lol

Yeah AC is not an issue here, but I am only stationed here for another 2 years. Summers back home can get a tad toasty tho...
Thanks for the info, that was helpful to know. Now I am real interested in how you end up doing this.

Mechanic77, I have been planning the same exact cuts on my truck to shorten it as well. I always thought the shortbed was just a touch to short. Thanks for the pics so I can see what is going to look like. Looks great. I having been calling it a sh-medium . I am glad I ran across this thread tonight. I am sectioning my frame (if it doesn't rain) this weekend. :chevy:

Sh-medium  I like it....glad I'm not the only one that thinks the short bed is just a little too short ;) So are you doing the 9/6 cut like I did?

Yep, 9/6. Sectioning it the same way as well. I saw shrunken66 do it that way, I guess he got it from the show Trucks!. Mine is sitting in the garage cut, just need to do a little trimming around the edges and weld it back together.

Wow, rough crowd ;) Actually haven't got much done at all, I had a motorcycle accident on May 6, broke my right foot, sprained my left ankle real bad and had a laceration on my liver.....so right now I'm just trying to heal up :smoke: After I'm healed up I'll probably be working on the bike (depending on how insurance plays out), so most likely won't be much progress on the truck for awhile.....sometimes feels like it will never get done :waah:
Oh, and to add to it all, my computer crashed a week before my accident and I nearly lost all the pictures I have of the truck......luckily a friend of mine is a computer expert and was able to save them all......

Aclew62, I basically just used a set of stock '84 C10 arms to jig up on my metal work bench.....the ball joint plates on the upper arms are mounted straight (rather than angled like stock) to both improve the angle of them when the air bags are aired out and to simplify them so that both sides are exactly the same ;)....and on the lower arms, I just moved the ball joints forward an 1 1/2" to improve the caster and move the wheels forward in the front wheel wells to better center them......
I did plan the suspension mods but as much as I hate to admit it, sometimes I just wing it :uhmk:
