2K primer recoat

So I sprayed the interior of my stripped cab with 2K primer expecting to recoat and then spray the single stage color in a few hours as per the instruction sheet.

I got side tracked and it has been a few days, and I haven’t been able to get back to the spray gun.

How thorough do I need to be in the sanding department before I spray again? Will it be different if I spray color, 1K or 2K primer over the existing 2K primer?

I’m just wondering about adhesion for the inside, since it is protected from the elements, would a red scotch bride be enough?

Hit it lightly with a grey scotchbrite pad and you're good to go regardless of what you plan to shoot.

yep, red is a little rough, stick with the grey scotchbright, make sure to get in the cracks and corners well as that is where you will likely have issues if not sanded thoroughly.

Remember, clean, clean, clean.....when you think you are done, do it again and you're 1/2 way there

If there is any peel in it you may want to sand that out.

The product data sheet will explain the top coat window, it can be up to a week or so. I usually sand 2k no matter what but the manufacturers state it isn't necessary.
I always spray epoxy as a sealer before topcoats because it provides adhesion and shows flaws in your base. It does add spray work, wait time and such which can be tiring....
