Wheel/tire size

Hey guys. Getting ready to order front wheels and tires. Anyone know factory sizes, backspaces? Or what you are running? Truck is a big block and lowered 4.5 inches in front.

You looking for factory sized wheels, or just as a reference point and going with something else?

I'm running 275/45-20s. If I remember, standard backspacing. Two inch drop spindles, flipped axle - notched frame, bagged on all corners. As it sit about a 7 inch drop.

I have a big block and am also lowered 4.5" in the front. I'm on factory 5x15" rims. Tires are this:

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I should have noted I'm planning on running Weld draglites. I just didn't know what size to order. I'm thinking about a 6" width or so but didn't know the backspace.

Re: Wheel/tire size

3.5” backspacing is zero offset on a 6” wide rim and zero offset is a good place to start on these trucks IMO.

I have 17x8 on the front with 4.5” backspace (also zero offset) and 235 55 17.

Rear of my truck is a 17x9 with 5” backspace (once again, zero offset) and 275 55 17.

An 8” wide rim measures 8” BETWEEN beads. Overall outside to outside will be right a 9”. Measured from wheel mounting surface to outside of the inside of the wheel is backspacing. Zero offset means the WMS is right in the middle of the wheel and that is 4.5” on an 8” rim.

Based on weight of the truck, width of the truck, size of the wheel well, IMO a 17” or 18” wheel would be a better choice. I would also get away from 15” rims as the choice of tire sizes and load ratings just isn’t what it once was. The 17” wheels on my short bed is the best mod I’ve done.
