Tailgate window regulator in 1989 Suburban
 
Please 🙏 if anybody knows how to get the alignment on the tailgate window regulator corrected please help me out while replacing some parts in my tailgate I had to remove alignment of the inner parts. My spring came off and I can get it back together

I wrestled with the one on my 1989 for a while. My tailgate window tracks were completely rusted out, and I had to fab new ones. I had the same issue, and had you asked this question 4 years ago I could have told you more than you wanted to know. But lots has happened since then, and all I can remember is there are some stamped alignment marks on the regulator to line up the two sides. I do remember several episodes of very slowly bumping the key in the lock to ease the window up and down to check things were where they needed to be.
