went shopping for some leaf spring plates with shock brackets on 'em and scored these beauties off of a 2002 Dodge Durango, this eliminates the need to weld shock brackets to the axle itself

I'm kinda liking what I'm seeing in this Hot Rod Relocating an In-Cab Fuel Tank – No More Fumes mounting wise, though I realize it's a different tank on a different gen truck, ha ha

pretty disappointed in this rollpan I got off of Amazon, it looked all stamped and such, but it aint, looks like it's half a dozen pieces tacked together every two to three inches or so and crooked at that

Re: A '54 named Busty

so my tires finally showed up, it was kinda wierd for a few months Amazon would not ship them to my house, nor would they allow me to ship them to a store like Sears of Pep Boys, anyway got sum Cooper Cobras 245/60-R15s [pronounced: "meats"] in a nod to the 70s

I wanted to go bigger rims but couldn't find the proper offset, also had to go with this size to keep the emergency cables from rubbin' on the rear tires like they was on the wheels that came with the truck

also replaced the 12" Grant like wheel with this 14" Grant(ish) wheel since I don't recon this is the stock '54 steering column so my stock steering wheel can't mount up to it (kinda sucks)

gonna use an acorn center nut eventually and three hex head bolts to make it look nicer, hewk may even throw a horn button on it some day

happy with the way the tank mounts turned out, I was able to make use of the stock crossmember

I did eventually cut off the over the axle exhaust pipes and will have to redo them to clear everything again - but that's all part of the Hot Roddin' game, two steps forward one step back (on a good day)

removed the stock outward facing upper rear shock mounts by grinding some rivets and plan on making a full length upper shock mount crossmember

noticed something interesting, wish I snapped a pic before removing them, but notice how the little bracket has four holes in it, but only three went through the frame, hmmm?

Fun Level = 0

I did eventually cut off the over the axle exhaust pipes and will just make them exit out before the axle, not a huge fan of that but just trying to make my life easier and not blow myself up

If you mean down before axle you may really regret it. I tried it and produced a drone that gave migraines. Even shooting out to side would be better
