it looks like everybody wants the raw unpainted face plate so this is what it will look like complete.

Fastenal would be a great start, and check with a large body shop, they have vendors that deal only in automotive fasteners

I know 2 guys wanting a 64-66 factory ac center vent system installed in their cab to retro fit a new vintage ac system under the dash and distribute air just from this vent outlet. I would suggest talking directly with Vintage Air and see if you can work a faceplate and a plenum adaption piece or modification duct to clamp their hoses directly to them so it works directly off their system. That would be a clean factory style in dash look and modern ac. Mark

This exactly what I was going to do. Modern components and use the old vent system

me too. but i want to add smaller size vents at the sides of the dash. cut out the center of the smaller vent take one of my re pop vents and cut the center out of it and then fit it in the new vent ball. then cast a whole new smaller vent ball that looks just like the correct center vent ball. basically i want it to look like it came from the factory.

Wow Jim, that vent turned out beautiful! That's some nice work, especially the crispness and sharpness of the dimensions and the embossed bowtie in the center.

I hope you sell a ton of these and make a pile of dough. You deserve it. You stepped up to the plate and made a part that we all wished would someday happen. Prototyping parts isn't easy or cheap, and it looks like you'll get your ROI (Return On Investment) quickly. That's really cool.

I love that idea. I love it when things look factory, but aren't. I think I have a pair of '67-'72 outer dash A/C bezels in my parts stash if you want to use them as prototypes to start with. I don't have the vent balls, though. They're yours if you want 'em.

Thank you all for the positive feedback. its a hard road getting to a good part that is worth selling. i have made 8 face plates so far and only 2 worthy of selling in my opinion. maybe im a little picky but i cant help it im a perfectionist when it comes to my work. again thanks i will try and do a good job for you all and get you a quality product.

I too need one of those clips for one of my spare vents. Also where are you sourcing the balls and the center pot metal part, I need a couple of pot metal pieces replated but if you can buy them I would rather just do that.

I am actually casting them and making them myself. I am doing all of this work in the spare bedroom of my house with the exception of the chroming.

Got my faceplate the other day, fantastic work! No casting flash, ready to paint, seems less brittle than my oem one! Will paint it this week and move my hardware over, pretty excited to get one thats not cracked and corners gone.

making some headway on the face plates and vent ball mounts.the ones on the far right are an example of not every part turns out good.
