'Turning-on' camera screen in rear view mirror

Probably a long shot......

In my 2014, I have the rear view camera in the tailgate with the screen in the rear view mirror. It only turns on when the truck is in reverse.

Is there a way to turn it in when in drive? It would be nice to see my small trailer.

Thx, Bob

Re: 'Turning-on' camera screen in rear view mirror

Most camera set ups are triggered by the reverse or back-up light signal. I am not sure about the 2014 trucks. However, most installers of cameras and stereo systems should be able to give you a switch to trigger the camera from a power source. Also, many cameras are NOT designed to be powered all of the time, so their lifespan decreases if you use them all of the time.
