Help me understand a few things on my SPID
 

Okay, from looking at my SPID I know the original owner did regular maintenance and kept track of it all. :D Still, I wish he hadn't written all over it.

Anyway, the truck is slightly modified and the original engine is long gone. It was a crappy oil burning warranty motor 307 anyway so no great loss. When I bought it it sat up high like a 4X4 so the G50 HD rear springs makes sense. But what exactly are the F59 "FRONT STABILIZER EQ" and G60 "AUXILIARY SPRING EQ". I've never seen those codes before. Is the G60 HD front springs? IS the F59 a front sway bar?

Pretty low option truck when new.

59 is indeed the optional front sway bar and 60 is an aux rear spring - sorta like an addition leaf mounted above the G50 (depicted in a pic member SSTim posted several years ago out of the assembly manual).

Hmmm. The truck is a half ton with coil springs. So is the G60 that half-leaf helper spring set up on the rear? The truck didn't have that on it when I got it but I added a set I got in the junkyard. They really help stabilize the truck when I'm towing a trailer with my Chevelle on it. Why would someone have taken them off? Removing the half leaf springs is super easy, I can see removing those, but removing the brackets would be a big ole PITB, can't see why someone would go to all that trouble. Plus, they are super to have on the truck. Personally, I take them off when the truck is just in everyday driving mode and only put the springs on when I plan to haul the trailer. With it lowered the springs are just barely touching the pads on the axle so it can ride pretty stiff without a load in/on the truck. It takes less than 5-10 minutes to put them on or take them off.

Hmmm x2 ! Take a peek here - maybe the 1 ton is different from the 1/2 & 3/4?

What you added is G60 for coil spring suspension.

I agree with you it's a great addition to normal ride height trucks that tow.
