Thanks for the heads-up. I am a HWC member but they don't send me e-mails anymore. I have to have that! It's the collector level quality

That was sold through RLC months ago. Sold out almost instantaneously. Currently going for about $95 but was trading for around $200 for a while.

It's a nice casting and the variable height suspension is neat but most will live unopened in their boxes. I'd rather just grab a mainline C10.

I've got plenty of those and my own custom jobs. Too bad I missed this one. The main line '69 is a Stepside with phantom grille and the '67 short fleet has a huge cowl induction hood. I like the greenlight stock looking ones, but no shortbed these. I haven't seen anything good for so long and this would be the casting I never had. But $100? No thank you. That's just stupid.

Hot Wheels collectors are a strange bunch in the toy collector world. I came into toy collecting with vintage toys. The older the best the more valuable. With Hot Wheels (all diecast I guess) it's their own world. It's pay the most to get one first, then the price goes down. I've sat back and bought my edition months later for half what the maniacs paid. I've bought limited edition muscle car one-off in a case sets, stashed them away for 20 years and have collectors quote from their guides the current value being $15 when the set was a store exclusive hard to find brand new at $10. Thanks, but I'll just keep it unless you want to give me $75. I kept it

Exactly. I recently sold off about 1500 diecasts, keeping only my larger scale and Moon Eye pieces. I was never a fervent collector, I just bought the cars I liked (muscle and classic mostly) and the occasional sets if I could get them easily in store. I grew tired of the 'false economy' where hoarders would buy all of some random car out of a set and then ask 10X shelf price to the others who couldn't find what shouldn't be a rare car.

I was an RLC member a few times over the last 20 years or so. Being Canadian, a $20 RLC exclusive costs me around $50 by the time it hits my door so I rarely picked them up and found my membership largely a waste of money.

Hopefully they will use that 69 casting for a standard mainline or even in a premium set - either of which will be a fraction of the cost of this RLC gouge. It IS pretty though.
