No, yours looks nice. I need you to come over and teach me a few of your bodywork skills. I still need to find two of my original door handle locations and install a newer gas door. Since this thing had everything shaved on it when I bought it.

We need some new pictures of the progress you've made.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I had a cookout at the house yesterday and about 10-12 board members showed up. Woodridge rebuilt the 4l60e and we put it in. Well kinda, there wasn't a dowel pin on the driver's side of the motor. So we just hand tightened the tranny to the motor until I can find one.

I hadn't had it aired out since the motor was in it. You can't really tell from the pics, but it's got a sweet rake to it. I also tacked in a factory dash and got rid of that shaved one.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Got a decent amount of work done on the burb today. Since Lizzy's eye surgery I really haven't had a lot of time for the burb or the show, but got a few hours today and went out in the garage.

I got another set of integrated seatbelt buckets from a late model Chevy truck from Brian at Brian's Motorsports. I'm running four buckets with a third row seat. It'll be tight for anybody riding in the third row, but 99% of the time it will just be the four of us so I'm not that concerned about it. I mocked the back seats up first and got the holes drilled. I hung the driver's side door all the way and also hung the core support.

Going to try to have it at the show, but obviously just sitting there, not moving on it's own power.

Coming along nicely. Shouldn't be too long before you can fire that baby up!

Love seeing the pictures of your little helper working hard. Has she said anything yet about having a truck of her own someday?

I've been looking for a SWB for her. I figure that I have about 9 years to build it :).

There's a stepside here in town that's in pieces that I've been trying to get the owner to give me a price, but he's one of those "tell me what you'll give me" types.

I also got a LS1 pan off ls1tech the other day, so I'll have that on hopefully this week.

progress looks great!!

what are these seats from? they look like nbs seats from a chevy, i got some from a 2003 suburban and not sure to mount them yet...

Re: Project Patina Burb

they are from a 2000's chevy truck. Just make sure you reinforce the seat from below the floor pan.

Re: Project Patina Burb

did you use the original seat holes? or did you make you own brackets and drill new holes?

5150 06-25-2012 06:52 PM

Re: Project Patina Burb

I drilled new holes and I'll put some steel underneath the floor pan when I bolt them down.

Got a few more pieces slapped on tonight.

Trying to get it ready so I can haul it up to the truck show this weekend. Don't really care how it looks to an extent, just wanted all the body panels on it except the hood.

Also got the F-Body pan in, which was a pain since I had to jack the motor back up to get it back above the crossmember.

Picked up a really nice hatch yesterday at SOKY Classics. The one I had was rough.

Looks like your burb is coming along nicely.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Yep, picked up a second row seat today. Decided to go with the original seats in the rear. I'll keep the late model chevy truck seats for the front.

Sad thing was, I actually had a second row seat and gave it away. Should have kept it, doh!

Re: Project Patina Burb

Here's the seat I picked up at a local guy here that sells tons of 67-72 stuff and has all of that rare stuff, like tool box doors and tow hooks.

He was kind of enough to flat out give me these grille trim pieces. There not perfect, but I needed a good driver set.

Nice seat! How many mounting brackets are in the back?

Re: Project Patina Burb

Two are in the back. I have the arm rests, or at least the metal bars, but no actual arm rests. I almost hate to cover it with a generic AutoZone gray seat cover.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Does your floor have 2 or 4 holes to mount it? Just wondering because they all seem to be different.
