I would have thought that the truck would run 12's with that engine and some slapper bars. Turbo is cooler though!

I think it is going to be a bit too small though. Going from rear mount to front mount will require it to move a lot more air.

It probably would have been a low 13 or high 12 second truck on motor alone with a stall. But with a stock converter and a 2.25 60ft, it just wasn't happening.
This turbo is definitely small but I payed $150 for the whole rear mount setup after selling the headers that came with it so it'll do for now. It was making almost 500 whp on the firebird in a rear setup so it should be good with what I'm trying to do. If not I'll upgrade later. Good thing about it is it should spoil right off idle so will feel more like a supercharger and with a stock stall that's exactly what I'm looking for. Like I said when I first started this build, I'm not looking for a drag strip monster, I'm looking for a fun daily driver. I'm pretty sure I've got the right combo for that goal. ;)

Alright gentlemen(and ladies), Turbo build is moving along great! I started a playlist that shows nitrous runs and then all the custom fab work we've done for the turbo set up. You can check it out here..

The entire hotside was fabbed together from junk. We chopped up a set of 6.0 manifolds, then made the crossover out of pieces of old exhaust we had laying around. This was the beginning.

Then I wrapped them and installed them on the truck.
