Brakes on a 12 Bolt Rear Axle

5 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know what this spring is called and where I can buy one? It didnt come with my brake hardware kit, and I cant seem to find it for sale anywhere. Mine is missing on the passenger side
Attachment 2090804

Also, does the spring cup (circled, yellow) pass through only the hole in the adjuster plate? Or should it fit through the hole in the shoe also? I installed new shoes and springs, but the yellow spring is basically bottomed out and cannot move. Seems like if the spring cup fit through the drum, the spring would be less compressed.
Also now the adjuster plate is able to flop side to side and I dont think it will actually press on the star wheel (it will instead deflect side to side). Not sure if that is related, or if I did something wrong

I think I put everything back how it was, but the side to side motion of that adjuster plate seems wrong, and the one on the other side is not able to move like that. Let me know if you see anything wrong...

Brake bar spring . Lots of times comes with adjuster kit .

Yes goes threw shoe AND arm .

Check pin length as some times there is a pin thats longer to fit the 2 hole spot . And or the shorter spring goes there .

The Napa part # for that spring is 80744. The hold down spring cup for the adjustment lever side is deeper then the other side.

Thanks for the help. Knowing the name of that spring was super useful, and I found the PN for them at Orielly, and will pick one up after work.

Brake bar spring (aka parking brake spring): H1338-2
Brake adjuster spring: H415
Brake adjuster return spring: H2148-2

The last 2 are usually included in the brake adjuster hardware kit, but my adjuster screws and bar are in good shape and I don't need another $20 of parts. Just want to replace the $5 worth of springs since they are wear items. Hopefully these PNs help someone in the future.

My hardware kit only came with one cup, and there was not a cup on the non-adjuster shoe when I took it apart. Just a washer against the shoe under the spring. Is this wrong?

The hole on my shoe is slightly too small for the cup to pass through. It would be easy to drill it up 1/32" so the cup will pass through if that's how it should be, just wanted to ask before doing it.

I'm a huge fan of including part numbers. I try to do that, too, because it's helpful to me.

Make sure you have the secondary shoe to the rear. It is the shoe with the longest lining. If so you can drill the hole out to fit the cup.

I do have the correct shoe in the rear. I drilled out the cup, and it seems to work properly.
