K5 to a truck

1 Attachment(s)
I want to turn my 1984 4 wheel drive K5 into a shorty truck. I want to Take the top off and weld in the back half of a truck cab onto it. Has anybody done this or have pics of one done. I have a doner cab alraedy, just curious to see it finished. I searched and found a black K5 that was done. But I want to go a little further back to where the bed floor starts under the back seat, so there is some room for speakers and tools behind the front seats.

Truck + Blazer = Trazer. ;) Search for Trazer, it's been done more than a few times.

(quick 'n dirty photo alteration here)

So, a sort of Trazer extracab, further back than what is offered by fiberglass half-cab conversions, and not necessarily enough space for dinky side windows....? I don't think I've seen anyone do that in real life. Would be more practical with some space behind the seats.

I'm gonna go as far back as the floor of the bed, that will give me about 14-16 inches behind the seat. That will be enough for me. And thanks for the pic.

Why not make a half cab so it could be removed later if you change your mind?

Why not buy a truck?

Andrewmpc and eightteenninetytwo. I don't think I will change my mind, and I've always wanted to do this second I like the turning radius of the K5.

One idea I had when I was making my half top was of having a drop in liner that could hang from the carport and be lowered in as I needed after removing rear seats. You have a half convertible right? We'll if that liner could also have a rear window and fit nicely against the cab it would be rather splendid.

Yeah, the off road guys call 'm Trazers and the guys who don't like them call 'm Blucks

Here's a wild idea. Use the tail end of a tailgate Suburban for your cab back...electric window.
