Is there any way to tell options from weight tags?

Just a question for some of the gurus: if you are looking at buying a truck, have a truck with no spid sheet, or for whatever reason want to know what options your truck has and all you have to look at is your vin/weight tag on a 1970-1972 c10/k10; what can you learn? Does the front axle/rear axle weights tell you if it's a short bed or long bed? Is there anyway to tell it had heavy duty spring? Big block, small block, ac? If anyone knows I'd love to learn? Thanks!

That tag will only tell you 2WD or 4WD, V8 or L6, GVW, Model, year, assembly plant and serial number.

The only other option would be to locate the build sheet in the seat springs or sometimes behind the gas tank.

Nope.

Kinda like telling how fast you are going by looking at the gas gage.
