LS T56 to SBC

Hey All,

Local Craigslist has a "LSX T-56" up for sale, and the original transmission in my 1960 SBC swapped C10 is not happy, so this might be a good step or 4 up.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of what all is required for this swap to be done.

This one has the bellhousing already, so can somebody help me walk through what may be needed to connect the two of these together successfully, as far as clutch, slave cylinder, TO bearing ect

I understand that the full swap will require driveshaft and transmission mount, how do I figure out what Pilot bearing, slave / master cylinder etc may be required?

One thing you'll need to address is shifter location..itll need moved forward..
As for hooking it to a smallblock, theres a ton of info out there..look to YouTube also..quite a few vids on it as well..as for part numbers I'm not sure..

I would contact Silver Sports transmissions. They do all kinds of T56 swaps.

You're going to have to remove your bellhousing crossmember and add a rear trans crossmember. Then you will need a different clutch slave cylinder. Your factory brake/clutch master has too large of a bore. I fabricate and sell a booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch specifically for the '60-'62 GM trucks. It is possible I may be able to help with the trans crossmember too.
