I started a spreadsheet using pics in this thread, and I haven't seen any color codes with "001", all of them start with "5". I have seen a "501", which is "MED BLUE".

Note: the one with "5??" - I couldn't read the color code on it's SPID plate pic. ;)

It is 4001BA

Re: Blazer SPID thread?

Right, I'm not sure what the first character or the last two characters mean on each of the codes, but it seems like characters 2, 3 & 4 are the ones that matter. So a paint code of 4(001)BA, I haven't seen, at least not in this thread.

Also, if you notice in that excerpt from my spreadsheet, there are a lot of paint codes with "514", but the text out beside it is different. In this thread, I've seen 514 for "RED", "MEDIUM RED" and "LIGHT RED" :D

In the factory assembly manual it says if it has too many options to fit on one sheet to cut one in half and place it adjacent to the first one. Does anyone have one and a half spid sheets??

1969 Blazer CST AC 4wd SPID

Not too many 1969 SPIDs in this thread

Only the 1969's had the "B" in the beginning of the VIN

Never knew about the (b)
thing, pretty cool...

Correct.

The first character and the last two characters are additional RPO detail, providing further information about the "functional name" as appropriate.

They fell into disuse during the squarebody era and were replaced by either dummy/placeholder characters or ultimately were not printed at all.

Was told yesterday that my Blazer started as a government service vehicle that was probably a tan color which also explains why it would say non taxable and decal on the spid maybe forest service truck or military or something.

Nice highly optioned trucks. Red one had everything. Don't see manual throttle very often.

Nice blazer evan. Highly optioned. How's the interior. Being a z84 truck I always like seeing the insides.
