84 GMC 3/4 ton Carrier Bearing

I've noticed in some catalogs that there are 2 different carrier bearings for an 84 GMC 3/4 ton pickup. Is there one that has a standard ID? I don't want to have to pull my driveshaft, get the old one off, and find out I have the wrong new one.
TIA

Shouldn't have to pull the driveshaft to get at the carrier bearing....
Just remove diff cover....pull axles...remove bearing caps...and carrier will come out
Be sure to keep up with shims and where they go
what makes you think carrier bearing is bad?
If it shows 2 different bearings, just get both..take the unused one back for refund...

I believe the OP is talking about the carrier bearing used in a 2pc driveshaft.

Are the 2 choices the same in appearance and just a different ID?

Ha...that never crossed my mind that was what he may have meant...we always call those driveshaft center support bearing...aka...carrier bearings...

Sorry guys. I meant driveshaft support bearing. I've always called them carrier bearings. But yes, they both look the same. Kind of like a swamp cooler bearing, just different i.d's.
Sorry for the confusion.

I saw this and thought this was a long way to go about replacing that bearing.

If the carrier bearing options are the same as the 67-72's, its measured by the spline shaft diameter that the bearing goes through. if you have a digital caliper you can measure that without taking anything apart. They often look completely different too. Most parts stores have pics in their computers of most all of their parts now.

Thanks, Scott. I don't have a caliper, but can have someone who does measure it for me.
