'60-'66 Suburban/Panel gas filler assembly
3 Attachment(s)
Here is the perfect way to add a filler door to the side of you box for your rear mounted gas tank. This is an original gas filler door and fill tube assemnly from a Suburban/ Panel. The filler door section has been abrasive blasted and primed with 2 coats of quality epoxy primer. The fill tube has also been abrasive blasted and powder coated satin black.
I would like to get $95.00 for this setup, plus shipping. This may seem a little high, but when you consider the work that has went into this so far, it isn't that bad. |

Re: '60-'66 Suburban/Panel gas filler assembly
do you have a suburban tank? or pics of one?

Re: '60-'66 Suburban/Panel gas filler assembly
I don't have an extra tank, however I do have the one under my '66 Suburban that I can take a pic of. Is there something specific you are interested in?

Re: '60-'66 Suburban/Panel gas filler assembly
i was wondering about how low it hung, how it attaches to the frame, the routing of the filler, and will it fit a truck frame?

Re: '60-'66 Suburban/Panel gas filler assembly
The Suburban/Panel gas tank is essentially the same as the '69-'72 Blazer tank. The biggest difference is that the Suburban/Panel tank has a good sized haif-round notch out of it to accomodate the spare tire. I'm not positive, but I think it may be slightly shallower also. The filler is the same as far as I know, and it would fit a pickup frame just like the Blazer tank. I can get you some pics and measurements on Saturday.

I'm interested in these.... got another question.................. do you think this would interfere with the factory body side trim on our '66? would the factory trim need to be modified? did the panels have trim like the trucks? i'm not sure of the position of the door in relation to the trim. |

Joe
Unfortunately the filler door is right where the Custom Cab trim is on the pickups. I've looked at this myself, and figured I could just cut the trim and carefully finish the ends just like the factory did. |
Re: '60-'66 Suburban/Panel gas filler assembly
so you would have a short piece on the filler door?

Re: '60-'66 Suburban/Panel gas filler assembly
I did some measuring today Joe. I'm not sure how this would work with the CC trim. Both pieces will be on the door, and the upper one will be aprox centered on the gap at the top.
