Question is actually how big is the hole of leak spot? Orielly Automotive makes a two part compound that will adhere to a fuel tank and seal it while with fuel in it.

My local body shop solders holes. Just had them fix the tank on a 71 IH tandem ax truck where the strap holding the tank wore a hole.

I fixed a motorcycle tank that was clogging fuel hoses with rust with some of that inside tank coating stuff. That was 4 years ago and still working.

I have used J B Weld with success in the past .

POR 15 Patch works too. (or any type of 2 part epoxy like this)
