Smh

.
Was listening to NPR this morning...they were discussing some Canadian government decision to allow families who were restricted to stay home to bring one additional family into their social "bubble" as a means to bring the stress levels down! I got the feeling that this was everyone in the country, just like we are being encouraged to stay home but for essential trips out.

The speakers on the radio show were all on board with how delightful it was to have this option or opportunity to expand socially and how grateful they were that the government had done such a thing. They were equally excited at the possibility that a second family might get to be brought into the "bubble" soon.

Topics of discussion revolved around how to choose the family to add to your mix, how it's maybe not an insult to turn a family down and that care should be taken to monitor your additional mix families activities so as to not expose your own family to unnecessary danger ( i.e. a new daycare for young children might cause issues for everybody ).

That concept has feel-good qualities all over it, seemingly without much thought, imho.

What could possibly go wrong?

SMH too....

It's not the entire country, it is one province, with very low case numbers. For contrast, the state of emergency was just extended in Ontario.

If you need to get out of the house for some social interaction, I hear that rioting and looting is a fine activity: meet new friends, get some exercise, and some deep discounts on new merchandise.

Face masks are optional and no need for social distancing.

It could be a good idea, depending on where that person has been recently, etc. As far as looting and vandalizing, I grew up dirt poor and never once considered going out and doing those things.

https://www.npr.org/

National Public Radio is an American privately and publicly funded non-profit media organization based in Washington, D.C. NPR differs from other non-profit membership media organizations, such as AP, in that it was established by an act of Congress and most of its member stations are owned by government entities. Just choose one of the families you see at Walmart, Safeway, or Home Depot. They are all safe. I don't get this bubble concept. Just get together practicing the social distancing that is supposed to be protecting us in the public

what is SMH?

SMH" far as I know means shaking my head. I believe it is more of a response to the subject than part of it.

That's not being illiterate, that's learning how to read and write back when they used whole words.

I know I benefit from being in a more rural area and a state that never went on a mandatory lockdown but when the government gets to tell me when and if I can have friends over to my house I am no longer being governed, I am being ruled.

With that, I am out as anything else will get me a vacation from this wonderful site.
