Re: '70 C10 duramax
Now that just looks like fun. I love diesel in general and the high HP, gobs of torque there just sound like fun!

Re: '70 C10 duramax
That's bad a$$.
|
Re: '70 C10 duramax
could you image, this thing is bad azz and probably getting 15-20mpgs thats some nice work!!!!
|
Re: '70 C10 duramax
makes me re-think my drivetrain combo for sure. I have a 2wd Duramax truck that I would love to part out to use for my 72 Super.

Re: '70 C10 duramax
That truck was at SEMA.....nicely done.

Re: '70 C10 duramax

Re: '70 C10 duramax
According to the article, he claims 30mpg. Yeah right. If you cou get 800 hp and 30 mpg, don't you think everyone would do this. Even though I think his estimate is off, he does good work and it is an awesome truck, and I wouldn't mind having it myself.

Re: '70 C10 duramax
He didnt say he was getting 30mpg while wide open making 800 horses. I have a friend with a built Duramax truck that made 816 and 1300+ tq to the wheels and gets 29 on the highway during normal driving. That diesel stuff is wild. It's amazing the things they can do.

Re: '70 C10 duramax
Well maybe I am wrong, it just seemed a little far fetched to me. I drive 70 miles to work one way, and I am tired of driving tiny cars to get over 30 mpg. If you can in fact get 30+ with this set up, I may just have to do it so I can ride in comfort and style.

Re: '70 C10 duramax
:jdp:
(That's all I have to say about that....) |
Re: '70 C10 duramax
My Duramax is bone stock except for a power programmer and I get 27 on the highway.

Re: '70 C10 duramax
Looks to be a very clean install.

Thats good to know, I guess I learn something new every day. I suppose to do a swap like this you would need a complete donor for the computers and wiring. Does anyone know about how much a donor might go for? |
Re: '70 C10 duramax
That thing is sweet!:metal::metal::metal:

Re: '70 C10 duramax
Theres a guy in wichita falls that has the complete motor and harness for 4500, i think its pretty low mileage though
|
Re: '70 C10 duramax
All the Diesel guys exagerate their mileage, The fumes get them high or something, I know I used to be one...LOL...no really it is unbelievable what some tuners do, but as soon as you lay the wood it drops the MPG fast.
Very nice truck, Don't care for the "car" wheels on a Diesel though, maybe a shortbed lowered, just look funny on a BIG RIG to me |
Re: '70 C10 duramax
I love how clean this truck is!
As far as the MPG, there has been a lot of press with Jonathan Goodwin (http://www.hlineconversion.com/). The problem that I see is the cost that it takes to get 25-30 MPG when you do a conversion. Seems like you can buy a lot of gas for what they want to do this conversion. But how fun would it be? |
