1967 GMC Suburban Build (Poloma)
1 Attachment(s)
Picked this up last week. Engine/trans were unbolted from the frame when I bought her. She's a 67 2wd with barn doors, original ivory white with red interior. So I thought to myself " Lets pull the engine out to freshen it up, since it's already unbolted!" I am glad I did! There's a 6" crack on the block! It was recently rebuilt(.030 over), so I will find a block and put her back together. I need to also pull trans out and ID and make sure fluid looks good. I am not going to do anything to the body yet, as I want to get it running. Poloma has hardly any rust. I have never seen one this clean ( maybe a show Suburban)!

Re: 1967 GMC Suburban Build (Poloma)
Pulled trans today(700r4). Pulled the pan, and water was the first to drip out! Should I rebuild or rebuild a 350 that I pulled out of my 72? Which trans is better behind a 350?

My round-trip commute to work is 2 miles! I don't go out of town much;maybe I would drive it once every 6 months a hundred miles or more!

Then it probably wouldn't make a lot of difference. LockDoc |

hey, this is bonestock 72 over here in sierraville, i've got a 350 4 bolt main casting #3970010 that needs rebuilt. It's standard bore. had a rod knock. you could transfer the parts out of your cracked block to this one. supposedly has a steel crank. let me know if you're interested.
