Possible Road Trip Event for Blazer/Jimmy Owners

Okay, here's the pitch:

I want to attend a gathering being held in Tenn. sometime during July of 09 and thought it's be very cool to make some sort of "event" out of it. :D

We have several builds currently running on the board, this could serve as great incentive for all of us to be done.

So if you think you might be able to make it, post up and say your in.
This could turn into something really cool/fun, so lets see where it goes...

Those who own blazers/jimmys are all invited, don't care from which direction you come from either. ;)

How 'bout it boys? :metal:

What kind of event is it? Does it have any mud racing or trail runs? I'd be interested. Also where in Tenn. is it held? Jason

Also is there a web site with more info?

If I can get it done, I'd be in. Keep in mind I'm building a DD not a trail toy.... Not that it wouldn't be able, more of me being a pansy with it:lol::lol::lol: Been there done that type of fun. Still enjoy it, just not with this one.

All right then, now you've got a reason to do it!

Not an off road trip, it's more about driving the old iron to get there.

No web site other than here, we would pretty much be crashing the Tenn. boys meet-n-greet.

Same as mine, it'll be built to run trails but this isn't that. ;)

Sounds like a good time, but I can't commit yet just because I don't know if mine will be ready by then. That would be a good target date though. :smoke:

Plan to come either way, with or without your blazer or maybe think about riding shot gun from VT. :chevy:

I know a couple guys down there that would be willing to pick you up from the airport too. ;)

For now, put me down for a maybe. I am very hopeful that my Blazer will be in running condition by then. This may be the motivation I need to "git-r-dun".

And thanks for the shotgun offer, I'm sure that would be a good time as well. I'll see how things go between now and then.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat...need to get my build going!

FYI, I pm'd the guy who is holding the get-together to make sure a potential blazer/jimmy onslaught is okay with him.

I just replyed to VTblazer's PM telling him to bring it on. The meet is going to be the 3ed weekend of July. I'm located in Big Sandy Tennessee 38221. You can check out the place by clicking on the last photobucket link in my siggy. It is the same place that we held the national board meet for 2008. Loads of pics in those links as well. We can make it 1 day or a week if you want to stay. Let's get it going, the Zoo Crew is always ready for a party.

Well......the wife didn't immediately say, "No." But it's gonna take a lot of convincing to pull it off. Call me a maybe at this point.

It won't take a whole lot to get mine road worthy seeing as how the drivetrain is new but it's still not gonna be pretty so IF I do get out there you'll have to follow me seeing as how there's no way I can follow up behind your bad ass blazer. ;)

For all the San Antonio guys I did a quick mapquest and this is what I got:

Estimated Time: 13 hours 50 minutes Estimated Distance: 874.69 miles

Re: Possible Road Trip Event for Blazer/Jimmy Owners

I'm only 1 hour and 10 minutes from Ron's. I have 3 extra
guests rooms in my house for anyone wanting to come. If
nothing else it would offset the gas vs. a few hotel rooms.

Looks like it's 1212 miles each way for me, so hopefully we can find a few board members along the way and grab some overnight carpet space to try and save on the no-tell motel thing.

Big trip for a shake down run but some-one's gotta do it. :sumo:

That would be one more shake down cruise but I know you and your build would be up to it. I truly hope that this cruise gets all the Blazer owners involved. So here's to a big meeting in Big Sandy, Tennessee the 3ed weekend of July.
