Transmission experts - Pressure test numbers?
 

Trying to figure out why my 200-4R won't go into 4th properly.

On one setting it will shift at 5mph, 15mph, 25mph, and will go into 4th. A click or two out on the adjustment slider, and it shifts where it should. At 17mph, 30mph, and that's it. No 4th.

So I just did a pressure test. What do you think of these numbers, and what are they saying?

All at 1000rpm.

With TV connected:
Park - 100
Rev - 195
Neu. - 105
D. - 105
2/3 - 105

Without TV connected:
Exact same numbers.

Full pull on TV cable:
Exact same numbers.

What's going on here?

What's the history of the trans, recent rebuild, shift kit, boost valve, TV valve original,
sounds like either the TV valve is sticking, and /or boost valve issue.

Any second gear starts ?

I don't know the history on it.
I've been told from a couple other people that they also think maybe a sticking TV valve also.

Please provide a pic of your TV cable connection at the engine.

Here is the set up at the carb. I've measured everything, and checked the rotation degrees. It's all within specs I've seen on Art Carr's site, and from Monster transmission.
I took the pan off, and found the plunger isn’t going all the way in at WOT. Can I “reverse set” this at WOT instead of making the initial set up in the idle position?

Ya. I’ve read that a few times. But was still having issues. I called Bow tie Overdrives and talked to them about it.

So after going through the set up procedure again. This is where it’s at.
Lever just touching the plunger at idle. And just a little of the plunger sticking out at WOT.
Is this acceptable or do I need a slightly shorter TV spring?

Briefly, but not specific to this issue.
I did speak with Art Carr. Might have it all sorted out now. Just need to get a gasket so I can button it all up, then test drive it.

Finally got to test drive it.
I think I'm good, but shift point seem just a little low except for 3-4. BUT, it went into 4th with decent shift points.
1-2 is around 13 mph
2-3 is around 23 mph
3-4 isn't until around 53 mph.

Do you think it's safe to say it's good to go?

If it would help get some answers, I’ve had people ask what my rear gears are and tire diameter. But haven’t had any responses from them either.
3.54 gears and 26” diameter tires.

Can you adjust the cable so it shifts later ? Or does it always shift the same if you adjust the cable. When does the TCC engage ?

I’m pretty well maxed out on cable adjustment. I could pre-load it using the set screw cable lock piece. But that would restrict me from getting full WOT.
I do have lock up installed, but haven’t driven it enough to feel or see where it kicks in. Wanted to be sure I could drive it where it’s shifting, without burning it up.

Not far off in my opinion I have 4.10 with 31" tires

1-2 is about the same
2-3 is about the same
3-4 is about 45
Lockup occurs as soon as it hits 4th

Now put the pressure gauge on it and provide the reaults
