1973 C20 292 L6 Low Idle Condition....
Just bought a weekender and quasi-project truck and gave it a good tune up, needed new water pump, hoses, etc. Question is, does anybody else with an early-to-mid 70s have any experience with this low idle condition i'm experiencing?
it doesn't stall out, but the idle is so low (think: sitting at a stop sign) that I have to actually pay attention to whether or not it is still actually running. previous owner was an old-timer who said it had always idled low, and i don't know if i'm just not used to it yet.... any thoughts are appreciated! :chevy: |

Does it have an idle speed screw on the carb? If so just turn it until it sounds right.

its a 1bbl Rochester and I looked but nothing "stood out" to me as the idle screw. thoughts on exactly where it would be? |

Not completely sure on a monojet, but on every other carb I've see they're under the throttle linkage pointing towards the rear of the carb. Hope you get it worked out!

Not a problem, hope I helped! If you find it turning it to the right should raise the rpms.
