Lift installed

I finished the installation of a 2.5 lift. I am real happy with the results. I am now able to run my BFG mud terrains on the street (with a little trimming). I would not try to 4-wheel a the truck as the tires would rub. Seems to work fine on the street. With 32 inch tires (really measured 31) and a stock suspense the top of the front fender measured 36.75 inches. The back was an inch lower. With the lift and tires the front measures 42.25 or 5.5 inches of total lift, the back measures 41.00 for a 5.25 inches of lift. (I did not have the spare underneath the back in the first mesaurement, the extra weight on the tail may account for the .25 of an inch.)

Actually, I would take the Escalade. Then I would sell it and be able to get 2 or 3 fully restored big block, fully optioned Super or Grande trucks:D

where is your son from? I saw an escalade exactly like that in front of my apartment the other day from alberta...prollly not him, but it looks so much the same

70blazer 04-22-2003 12:45 AM

:D That has got to be one of the best looking trucks I have seen in a while, and I am on here a lot. I don't think I could ever own something that pretty. I would never leave it alone, I would probably end up sleeping next to it in the garage!

Looks great. That color combo is really nice too.

That's a beautiful little blue truck. I guess I just don't understand why somebody would by a Tahoe and pay $10k dollars more for Cadillac emblems...

Randy70C-10 04-22-2003 09:39 AM

The Escalade looks like something I'd run over with your truck. :D

that looks really sweet, chevy71super. Who makes the lift you installed, and what size tires are you running in the pics? thanks

I am seeing double:D Didn't mean to take your post man... Your truck is definately better. Your truck looks good with that lift and as far as the escalade.... I would much rather have a blue and white Cheyenne Super swb 4x4 anyday.

Thanks for all the compliments. No, my son-in-law lives in Post Falls Idaho. He bought the Escalade used paying mid 30's for it. He put 20's on it and the picture does not do it justice. Its a nice rig. Driving around Seattle I noticed people pulling up beside us looking it over. Mike C is right, it is essentially a Tahoe but it looks alot better IMHO and they hold their resale value. I was joking with him telling him my truck will be worth more than his Escalade in 5 years. Little does he know that will probably be true as long as I take care of the truck. (He also has tire envy now that my truck

My truck was at the Seattle Roadster show. I didn't have time to put the lift on it before the show so it didn't look right with the 35's. The truck took best of class! Shows you what they know about 4X4's. (They kept asking me if I was a vendor.)

I am really happy the way it turned out once I got the lift on it. It sits a little lower in the back than the front. I was told many guys will put 4 inch springs in the back with the 2.5 springs in the front to level it out. I may put a couple of those air bag helpers in the back so it sits level when I tow my dirt bikes.

The lift is made by SkyJacker. The tires in the picture are 35 BFG's. The ride is definitely firmer than stock but I don't think it is overly rough. I am taking my wife and son on a 300 mile drive in a couple of weeks so we will see what she thinks of the ride . . .

Overall its now the truck I always wanted when I was young. I've owned if for 10 years and I keep improving it every year. I like the looks of trucks with tires that fill the wheel wells. Its just my opinion but I don't see the point of a lot of lift with smaller tires.

Thanks for cropping and reposting the pictures. 71 longbed If I send you a full sized copy of the picture with the Escalade could you repost that one also? I want to get some better out door pictures to post. Thanks again.

New Escalades on 20's are pretty sweet and I would love to own one but if you were both rollin down Main St., you would have all of my attention! I got to see it up close at the roadster show and it is amazing. When my girlfriend saw it at the show I told her it was a board members'. I felt like I knew a celebrity:D
Anyways, looks absolutely perfect with that lift and tires that look so massive.

I like it, can you guess why?

bouncytruck 04-23-2003 12:30 PM

I hate to say it, but Escalates rolling on 20+ wheels are a dime a dozen on my side of the lake. Where I work in Bellevue, I know of 5 in a 2 block radius. I can also know of 5 H2s all pimped out in that same area. I'd much rather see a very nice looking 67-72 than another overprice SUV some punk in a crooked baseball hat driving.

DMAN 04-23-2003 01:57 PM

Very nice. What color blue is that?
