'48 cab vents
The left side of the truck has a ribbed vent on the outside. What connects to this vent on the inside of the cab.
Mine looks as if something was connected, but missing now. Any pics would be helpful Thanks |
Re: '48 cab vents
Normally the Left side was a vent panel that opens and closes, the right side had a stack of horizontal louvers. The fresh air heaters sealed up against those vents on the right side.

Re: '48 cab vents
I guessed it would be some sort of heater, just don't know what it looks like or even a pic.
If you have a pic, please send it to me. Thanks |
Re: '48 cab vents
That is where the Deluxe heater connects to get fresh air from the outside. If it is heater delete or has a standard box heater or after market box heater there should be a block off plate over the inside.
I don't have a photo of a deluxe heater in or out of a truck but maybe someone else can post one. |

Here's what the heater looks like out of the truck, I'm sure if you look around, you can find a picture of one mounted under the dash.
The other picture is kinda crappy, that's what my truck looked like (in the craigslist ad). Hope it helps! |
Re: '48 cab vents
There you go, that should be somewhat self explanatory.

Re: '48 cab vents
I found a heater delete plate that will resole this. Don't need a heater in so.cal.
Thanks |
