Re: Slot lovers unite!
A few days after the last post I know, but here's a place to get these wheels.
www.akhwheels.com I'm not affiliated with these guys, but I have bought a set of 5 for my '71 Bronco. They buy up all sorts of old wheels and restore them. They are so particular that they wont mix and match a set that wasn't polished with the same compound as the reflection won't be the same. |
Re: Slot lovers unite!
Hey Rat Rod
What size are your tires and it looks like you have no drop? I just picked up a set of 15x8 slots with 235 60R15's on the front and they look small on there with a a lot of wheel opening SW |

There are slot mags for EVERY year. I'm surprised we've never seen a stock Model T with them (now watch, someone HAS a picture of a stock Model T with them and will post it;) |

Kurt, you will do well to choose a size of wheel, and measure lug spacing first. Then search boneyards, ebay, craigslist, pennysaver, etc. Slot-mags are out of of production these days, but they were very common years ago. Pricing for a set in good condition will be less than most new sets of steelies. |
Re: Slot lovers unite!
While CL, ebay and others are a good source for used wheels new slots are still available at for instance Summit Racing. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARE-A695765/ and
http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel...ubcat3=1101101 for examples. I think there are others still offering them too. |
Re: Slot lovers unite!
Alright slot lovers, help me out here: I have 4 slots for my C20. Now, I only have 8 lug nuts and I need 24 more. I've checked the local tire\wheel shop and auto parts store, and they don't have lug nuts for me. What type of lug nuts do I need? I'll probably have to order them from somewhere.

Re: Slot lovers unite!
pmpski 1: I had really good help from Sheila at Massey Accessory Shop in OK. (405) 239-2010. Best bet is to carefully measure the depth and diameter of holes and be ready to give her as much info about the wheel as you have. Mine are on a 70 c20 suburban. Got something called a 1/2 inch Duplex Mag Part No. 75187B. Probably a Gorilla product. THink they're like 2 1/2 inches long. 1/2 inch thread. 1 inch in the wheel hole and 1 1/2 outside. Don't forget the washers.

For the old slots om my 69, I bought
7/16 x 3/4 long shaft lug nuts from Auto Zone but they were like a $1.00 a piece |
Re: Slot lovers unite!
A plain ol tire store might not carry lug nuts but a custom wheel n tire shop will and can get you most anything you need to mount your new wheels.

This is what the Ansen Sprints looked like when I first saw them. The gentleman said I could have them if I wanted them. I could not believe it. About 2 hours of labor each with a powerball and some new shoes:gmc2:.
