No problems at all. Most of my install was plug and play with a little wiring. The setup was a little confusing at first but once I figured out how to navigate the setup menu it was pretty easy

Good deal. That is one of the nicest looking custom clusters I have seen.

I'm not sure if I saw it, but why the change to the Dakota Digital dash? I think it looks good (I actually added one to my project truck), but didn't know if the Intellitronix dash you initially installed gave you issues?

Dakota Digital dash looks more like the factory dash, so I went with it and like the looks a lot better. Only issues I had with the Intellitronix dash was the sending units, they failed multiple times in a very short time

Made a few panels today for the headliner and finished up the insulation. Rear section is finished. When I get back into town next weekend I hope to have the headliner completed

Looking good! Is your rear AC unit working or did you retrofit it with a newer aftermarket one?

Yes, the rear ac is operational. In a few weeks when I go on vacation we are going to plumb up the AC , vacuum it down and charge it. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and I have AC this year

Looks great, really cleans up the interior. What did you use for dividing the sheets?

Man that looks clean, what did you use for insulation? Have you driven it yet and did you notice a difference in road noise?

Thank you. I used 1/2 inch foamboard insulation from Lowes. I scored the board up in the radius of the roof then put a strip of gorilla tape opposite of the score to keep it together. Havent driven it yet to see if it made a difference in road noise. The original insulation was styrofoam with a cardboard backing but above the drivers area there was some kind of vinyl gluded to the roof. I thought that was kind of odd, but I insulated that area with the foamboard as well

Finished up the AC in the Suburban today. Now both front and rear units are working and was 51 degrees at the vents.

Re: New project : 72 Suburban

Well, a few days after my last post the wife and I decided to go for a ride and test out the AC. It lasted 8 miles and POW !!!! #6 line going to rear unit let go right after the tee fitting. So I ordered all new line and beadlock fittings and made new lines for the entire system. Cant complain though, all of the lines are original but at least I know that both units work and this summer I can ride with the windows up.

What did you use for the headliner pieces? I've got a friend with a 71 burb that asked me. Thanks!

Thank you .... Tell him to start at the front and go to the back ... The front section will take two people to install

Picked up this little gem today a couple miles from my house for $30 .... 1960's AMF Roadmaster 26 inch bicycle. Fits perfect in the rear of the Suburban and should make me some cool transportation at the big shows i attend.
