Exhaust kit

So I'm looking for an exhaust kit for a 79 with a big block. I preferably want pipes for manifolds and not headers then make my pipes as I go but can't find any ends that are flanged for manifolds. Anybody know of anything?

Yea I know most shops can. Problem is I don't have time during the week to run around and find them. A lot of them around here won't do anything without the vehicle. They are afraid that you will be putting it on a vehicle that is required to have cats or some type of emissions. I used to work on GSE for local airport and not one shop would do any type exhaust work for the equipment. So I just assume buy a kit and/or flanged ends and make my own. I can find kits for headers but I don't want to run headers.

Sanderson headers has them but you have to call them- they're not listed on their website. I've got them from them when I used a set of thier headers. If you're not familiar with thier cast iron headers/ manifolds you need to check them out. They are superb quality, in fact, they are machined so well they don't use gaskets.

Any chance you could post a couple of pics? I'm going to check them out. Thanks

Sorry, I don't have that vehicle any more. Was an 87 El Camino that was lowered. I cringed at the cost but bought thier cast headers anyway. I loved them!

I bought a HeartThrob kit that used 2-1/4" mandrel bent tubing all the way to the bumpers, or side exit if you prefer. Everything fit well and the price was very low. Actually bought it thru one of their distributors. I did have to modify the head pipes to fit my 1997 manifolds.

I was able to find flanges on the Internet, but local shops or parts stores should also have them. Ended up going to headers later, and used the tubing I had left over, because their kits fit long beds and I have a short bed.

I'm not sure if they offer kits with larger tubing for your BBC, but you can check here: http://www.heartthrobexhaust.com/
Click on "Manifold Dual Kits" on the left of the page.
